Wannianling Temple (萬年靈宮) - Spectral Codex

Wannianling Temple (萬年靈宮) enshrines Xuefu Wangye (薛府王爺), a guardian deity originally venerated at a private altar kept by members of the Lü () family in the Sanjiao (三角) area of Shengang. Devotion to the deity grew after the Shengang Air Disaster (神岡空難) of June 1964, which killed all 57 aboard a Civil Air Transport C-46 bound from Taichung to Taipei, among them many foreign nationals and members of a delegation returning from the Asia-Pacific Film Festival. In the years that followed, residents reported the dead appearing in their dreams, prompting repeated rites for the deceased. Worshippers eventually pooled funds to build the present temple, completed around 2009. Immediately to the east of the temple stands a small stone monument (空難亡魂紀念碑) to the victims of the crash. Additionally, the Huye (虎爺) of this temple is depicted as a white vegetarian tiger.
