A traditional residence in the Sanjiao area of Shengang dating back to the Qing dynasty era. Established by the Lü family in 1866, it has been regularly expanded over time as the family grew, so there are also Japanese colonial era structures preserved on site and in the immediate vicinity. It is known for the Xiaoyun Study (筱雲軒), a library added in 1878 to house a collection that grew past twenty thousand volumes, and the family’s scholarly tradition drew the young poet Qiu Fengjia (丘逢甲) to study here. Long threatened with partial demolition for a road through its grounds, the villa was eventually spared and restored; part of it remains occupied by descendants of the Lü family, who also built the older Lu Family Dingwacuo nearby. Consequently, this is also known as the Lu Family New Residence (呂家新厝).
