A post-war railway station along the Shen’ao Line (深澳線) in Ruifang inaugurated in 1967. It was first named for the settlement of Gengziliao (焿子寮) and rechristened Haibin, meaning “seaside”, a few months later, despite standing further from the water than any other station on the line. Tracks east to Liandong were dismantled in 1986 to make way for the coastal highway, and passenger service ceased along with the rest of the line in the summer of 1989. Flooding had already scoured out the roadbed west of the station by then, forcing the use of a temporary platform of sleepers in the final years of operation. The original station building is still standing behind the island platform but doesn’t really look like much; it now houses a local seniors’ welfare association (新北市瑞芳區松柏長青福利互助協會), its rear wall pressed against a concrete slope left by the widening and raising of the road out front.
