Xīhú (西湖) is a small rural township in Miaoli with a population of approximately 6,200 predominantly Hakka residents. It is characterized by hilly, forested terrain and maintains a traditional agricultural economy producing rice and citrus fruit. The township features several religious sites including the impressive Mazu stone statue.
