Jincheng (金城), meaning “Golden City”, serves as the administrative center of Kinmen County. Located in the southwestern part of Greater Kinmen Island, the township is characterized by its well-preserved traditional architecture and historic sites. The area known as Houpu (后浦) forms the historic core of Jincheng, with a history dating back around 700 years. This cultural center combines southern Fujianese and overseas Chinese influences, alongside traces of Kinmen’s battlefield history, a significant part of the island’s cultural heritage.
