A four-pillar granite archway erected in 1812 in the eastern gate quarter of old Houpu (後浦), honoring Madam Xu, who was widowed at the age of 26 and raised her son Qiu Lianggong (邱良功, 1769–1817) alone for 28 years. Qiu rose to become Qing Zhejiang Naval Commander, famed for suppressing the pirate Cai Qian, and commissioned this archway to honor his mother. It stands over ten meters tall and is recognized as a national monument.
