Wuqiu

Wuqiu (烏坵), meaning “Black Mound”, is a remote rural township consisting of two small islands, Greater Qiu Islet (大坵嶼) and Lesser Qiu Islet (小坵嶼),located approximately 133 kilometers northeast of the main Kinmen island group. Due to its remote location and military significance, Wuqiu has historically maintained a small population primarily consisting of military personnel. It is not easily visited by members of the public.
