Xujiang Xiaowo Stone Inscriptions (虛江嘯臥石刻群) - Spectral Codex

A cluster of cliff-face inscriptions on the southern slope of Panshan (磐山) near Wentai Pagoda in Jincheng, Kinmen. The earliest was carved in 1547 by Ming dynasty general Yu Dayou (俞大猷) during his posting as ommander on Kinmen. His student Yang Hongju (楊宏舉) later built a Xiaowo Pavilion (嘯臥亭) at the site and added his own inscription, with further calligraphy added by Qing dynasty officers and literati over the following centuries. The pavilion was destroyed during the September 3rd Artillery Battle of 1954 and the surviving ruins cleared the following year; the county government rebuilt it in 2001. The inscriptions are recognized as a national monument.
