Puzi Rixin Hospital

Completed in 1936 by Tu Lu (涂爐), one of the first doctors of Western medicine in Puzi, who trained in Okayama during the Japanese colonial era. The two-storey building, set in a garden, combines a Western clinic on the ground floor with Japanese living quarters above. After decades of disuse the owners sold the property in late 2013 and began demolition, prompting a preservation campaign that led to its designation as a county monument in December 2014. Puzi Peitian Temple agreed to purchase the building the following year for use as a museum of medicine.
