A reconnaissance tower in Wanjian Village (萬建村) around the former site of Katō Airfield (佳冬飛行場) in central Pingtung. Although generally known as a fort, its function was to spot the approach of enemy planes on the horizon. The airfield itself is now Pingnan Industrial Park (屏南工業區) and this tower is also known as Wanjian Fort (萬建古碉堡).
