Seven ROCAF military dependents’ villages housing nearly 900 households clustered along Dongda Road (東大路) beside the airbase on the north side of Hsinchu, an area residents knew as Shulintou (樹林頭). Established between 1949 and 1960, the villages were redeveloped piecemeal from 1980 through the early 2010s, and nothing of the original housing survives.

Points
- Air Force No. 1 Village (空軍一村)—Vanished (已消失)
Established in late 1949 for 150 households of the 8th Group, who arrived from the mainland by air and moved into tile-roofed houses left behind by the Japanese. Its site is now occupied by redeveloped apartment towers beside Zaixi Elementary School (載熙國小).
- Air Force No. 2 Village (空軍二村)—Vanished (已消失)
Built in 1950 for 96 households of the 8th Group and rebuilt around 1960 with funds from the Women’s League (婦聯會). In 1980 it became one of the air force’s first pilot redevelopments, replaced by five-storey public housing renamed Huaide New City (懷德新城).
- Air Force No. 3 Village (空軍三村)—Vanished (已消失)
Former Japanese aviators’ quarters taken over by 8th Group pilots, many of whom were killed flying joint US–ROC reconnaissance missions; air force anti-aircraft artillery units resettled 193 households here in 1952. Rebuilt as public housing towers in 1994.
- Air Force No. 4 Village (空軍四村)—Vanished (已消失)
Established in 1955 for 59 households who had been living in a warehouse on Beida Road (北大路) until the site was cleared for a Catholic church. Demolished and replaced by a privately developed mixed-use high-rise.
- Air Force No. 5 Village (空軍五村)—Vanished (已消失)
Built in 1950 with welfare funds of the 20th Group for 129 households on the site of a Japanese barracks flattened by American bombing in World War 2. A parking lot was built on the site of much of the village after it was razed and it was briefly home to Shulintou Night Market (樹林頭夜市).
- Air Force No. 6 Village (空軍六村)—Vanished (已消失)
Established in 1955 for 95 households from the 8th Group, 11th Group, and 202nd Supply Group on former Japanese barracks land. Its wooden homes were rebuilt in brick in 1976.
- Air Force No. 7 Village (空軍七村)—Vanished (已消失)
Established in 1960 after a typhoon for 163 households drawn from several air force units, who moved in two years later. The nearby 814 Cigarette Factory (814菸廠) and an ordnance disposal plant at Qingcao Lake (青草湖) provided work for dependents.
