Established in 1898, this elementary school is among the oldest in Hsinchu, having begun in a temple before moving to the present site in 1907. While most of the campus has been redeveloped over the years two Japanese colonial era structures were designated city monuments in 2021: Bailing Building (百齡樓), a block of classrooms completed in 1937; and Tongxin Hall (同心堂), an auditorium completed in 1933. It remains an active school and permission is required to enter the grounds.
