Originally established as Yihe Theater (義和戲院) in a converted warehouse in the early 1950s, it was refurbished and renamed in 1964 after it came under new ownership. The theater only lasted another five years, as it was difficult drawing a regular audience in rural areas. Its ultimate fate is unknown.
