Established in the Japanese colonial era as Nankan Theater (南崁座). Not much is said about what happened during the golden age of cinema, but it was eventually rebuilt as a commercial complex with a theater of the same name on the third and fourth floors. The last screening was in 1995 and the current situation is unknown, although it is plausible the theater halls remain under lock and key. Part of the upper levels are in use by shops on the ground floor.
