Established by Chen Ancha (陳按察) in the Japanese colonial era, this was a rare example of a privately-owned brown sugar factory in the hills of eastern Tainan. It closed in the 1960s and was converted into a pig farm for a while, but the stench caused many issues for the townspeople, and this was eventually abandoned as well. Today you can still find the rusting hulks of machines in the jungle around here, plus a broken chimney.
