A short stretch of old shophouses in the foothills of eastern Tainan. The settlement grew around the Japanese colonial era Qiandapu Sugar Factory (前大埔糖廠), which brought enough commerce to support a theater and a hotel, both now closed. Today the street retains a handful of traditional shophouses, a general store, and a watchmaker among other holdouts.
