A short hike along a portion of a forest railway line in Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area. It is probably no understatement to call this one of the most iconic trails in Taiwan. It is mostly flat and pretty easy even for inexperienced hikers. Also known in English as Jancing Historic Trail.
The famous moss-covered railway tracks along the trail.
This old forest railway line is more commonly photographed in the mountain fog.
The trail makes it easy to appreciate the remnants of the historic forest railway in this area.
The trail is often crowded and it can be difficult to get a clean shot.
I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
