Around 500 metres of bare concrete shells on the western fringe of E-DA World (義大世界), the resort, outlet mall, and theme park complex that opened in Dashu in 2010. Work on the second phase stopped around 2011, when the city government found the operating parts of the resort had exceeded their permitted floor area and froze development, leaving a mixed hotel and residential block, the second phase of E-DA Skylark Hotel (義大天悅飯店), and more than a hundred villas half-built. E-DA’s founder, Lin Yi-shou (林義守), remains embroiled in legal disputes with the city, and the extensive complex remains visibly derelict into the mid-2020s.
