A well-preserved residence along Provincial Highway 3 (台3線) just south of Nanhu Police Station. The building features Shōwa era styling on its façade and a complete black tile roof. The Yan family, originally from Tainan, relocated to Nanhu and became prominent in the sugar, camphor, citronella, and fruit industries. They also co-founded the Miaoli Light Railway Company (苗栗輕鐵株式會社), which provided pushcart transportation from Miaoli City to Linliping (淋漓坪), just south of Nanhu. The building was likely constructed in the late Shōwa era or early post-war period. It is currently unoccupied but the residence is maintained by friends of the family as descendants living abroad occasionally return to visit.
