Checheng Zhen’an Temple (統埔鎮安宮) - Spectral Codex

A large temple on the road from Checheng toward Sichongxi, easily recognized by its 51 meter-tall steel-framed statue of Guangong (關聖帝君) on its rooftop, said to be the largest in southern Taiwan. Local worship reaches back over a century, starting with Juewu Hall (覺悟堂), a spirit-writing hall in a Guo family residence, before the temple proper was built in 1906. The temple’s centenary prompted a full reconstruction that took eight years to complete; the former temple can still be found at the main intersection in town, now disused.
