Guishan is a strategic coral outcrop at the north end of the Hengchun Longitudinal Valley Plain. It has long been fortified by successive colonial regimes and was likely visited by Charles Le Gendre in 1867, prior to formal Qing administration of the area. Numerous Japanese colonial era fortifications modified by the ROC after their arrival can still be found scattered across the mountaintop, and extensive tunnels, some of them partly blocked by landslide debris, weave beneath the surface.
Warning: this location is abandoned, hazardous, or otherwise neglected and may be unsafe and even dangerous! Exercise appropriate precautions when visiting.
警告:此處已廢棄或長期無人管理,可能存在潛在危險。造訪時請務必提高警覺,並做好相關安全防護措施。
