Faint traces remain of a shinyo (suicide boat) base can still be found along a creek on the outskirts of Haikou Village in Checheng, Pingtung. Originally stationed here were the 28th and 30th squadrons, and at least five trenches can still be found along the riverbank. Additional facilities were also located in Xiapu (下埔) and Sichongxi (四重溪), but most have been lost to time.
