Oscar Theater was established in 1976. This large complex features a long lobby with an escalator leading up to the entrance of the main theater hall. It was renamed Oscar Cinerama (ออสการ์ซีเนรามา) later in its operating history. It closed down in the early 2000s and much of the surrounding retail space has been converted for use as seedy massage parlors and the like.
The distinctive façade of the theater.
An oblique look at the façade. Presumably the name of the theater was once displayed here.
The long lobby greeting anyone curious enough to wander in.
Someone had taken up residence in the former theater as of 2018.

This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
