Established in the Pathum Wan district of Bangkok in 1968. It suffered a fire in 1993 but the space was renovated into three halls and reopened to the public. It survived into the 2010s, becoming one of the city’s longest-running standalone theaters, finally closing in 2018. Much of it has since been repurposed for use as commercial space.
A signboard outside the theater showing combined listings for all three halls of the Lido as well as the Scala Cinema just next door.
I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
