The men’s house, or kuba (庫巴), of the Tapangu community of the Tsou people in Alishan. A kuba is the political and ritual center of a principal Tsou village, where boys are blessed, trained, and initiated and where the Mayasvi ceremony is held. Only two remain in use, the other being Tfuya Kuba. According to oral history the Tosku family founded this one with a center post carried from an earlier kuba after losing a power struggle at Tfuya. It is a small ceremonial structure with a thatched roof.
