The largest intermediate station on the Alishan Line (阿里山線) of the Alishan Forest Railway, established in 1912 as Funkikō at 1,403 meters elevation in Zhuqi. Ascending and descending trains crossed here while steam locomotives took on coal and water, and the long midday halt gave rise to a local trade in railway lunchboxes. The former wooden engine shed now displays steam locomotives.
