Established in 1957 by the ROC army as part of the Sanguan Camp (三官營區) complex. Initially it operated as a commercial theater, screening films and hosting traditional opera for the public, but by 1965 it was brought under stricter military control and renamed the National Army Cultural Activity Center (國軍文藝活動中心). A 1985 fire prompted discussions about closure, but it continued operating and even hosted Golden Horse Film Festival screenings. It was the only 1950s theater in the area still operating until the pandemic provided an opportunity to close it in mid-2021. Demolished in 2025 to make way for a park.
