A small Buddhist temple above a ferry pier on the southern shore of Sun Moon Lake (日月潭), completed in 1956 by Yuchi Township as a temporary home for part of the skull relic of Xuanzang (玄奘) sent from Jion-ji (慈恩寺) in Saitama, Japan. The relic was moved to the newly completed Xuanzang Temple in 1965, and the township office has run the temple directly since 2010.
