The former seat of the Taiwan Provincial Council, Taiwan’s highest elected representative body before the reform of the Legislative Yuan in 1992. Designed by architect Lin Shumin (林澍民) and completed in 1958, the building was modeled after the US Capitol. The council was reorganized as the Provincial Consultative Council in 1998 and ceased operations entirely in 2019. Since 2021, part of the complex houses the Democratic Times Museum (立法院民主時刻館).
