A museum and reception complex designed by architect Shen Zuhai (沈祖海) in Zhongxing New Village. It opened on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of Taiwan’s retrocession on October 25th, 1965, and acted as a library of charts and statistics for policymaking and meeting with visiting foreign dignitaries. In 1989 it was expanded with a conference hall, banquet hall, and the Lotus Garden guesthouse. Registered as a historic building in 2011, it still operates as the Taiwan Provincial Government Archives under the National Development Council, with galleries on Taiwan history and the province’s successive chairmen.
