Established in 1957 on the southern edge of Ximending. It initially showed first-run films but switched between first-run and second-run as competition intensified. Struggling to survive, it eventually resorted to screening illegal adult films and was ordered to shut down in 1987 by the authorities. The site remained idle for a time before being redeveloped into the residential building Zhongzheng Guobao (中正國寶), completed in 2008.
