Established in 1912 to provide postal and telegraph services to residents of Hakkōchō, an administrative subdivision immediately to the east of Bangka. In the post-war period it was renamed Longshan Post Office (龍山郵局) after the nearby temple. It closed long ago but was recognized for its heritage value in 2019. There is some debate about whether the structure actually dates back more than a century or if the designated building was constructed in the 1930s.
