One of around 35 Dachen Island villages around Taiwan. This one was founded for fishermen and their families and was initially home to 110 households and 481 residents. The most significant relic of this history is a Mazu temple with an idol brought over by villagers when they fled the islands in 1955. A God of Fishing (漁師大神) also makes an appearance on a side altar. Located in remote coastal Yilan but accessible by rail.
