Taichung Second Public Market (臺中市公有第二零售市場) - Spectral Codex

Completed in 1917, this is the oldest and most well-preserved of the public markets established in central Taichung in the Japanese colonial era. There is a hexagonal watchtower in the center of the market that once afforded a commanding view of the surrounding town, but it is now overshadowed by tall buildings in every direction.
