A rare privately-established Confucian temple in Luodong, founded in 1862 by the Wenzong Society (文宗社). Originally built as Shengren Shrine (聖人祠) on the site of what later became Rixin Theater (日新戲院), it was relocated to its current location on Beicheng Road (北成路) in 1967 after the old temple fell into disrepair and the surrounding area deteriorated. The northern-style gate was inscribed by Yilan County Magistrate Chen Jindong (陳進東).
