Established in 1975 as the continuation of a public mourning hall, this is one of two temples on Qijin Island venerating ROC president Chiang Kai-shek. In 2006 the temple committee voted to swap in Guanyin as the primary deity worshipped here, perhaps a sign of changing sociopolitical attitudes toward the late dictator.
