The former Taiwan Provincial Government Department of Construction (臺灣省政府建設廳), the provincial body responsible for industry, commerce, mining, urban and regional planning, and construction administration, in Zhongxing New Village. Like the nearby Department of Agriculture and Forestry, it was designed by architect Yu Yuezhen (虞曰鎮) of Youchao Architects (有巢建築師事務所) in the same quasi-International Style. The department was dissolved in the 1999 downsizing of the Provincial Government and the building became the Ministry of Economic Affairs Central Office (經濟部中部辦公室). It was registered as a historic building in 2011.
