A marine outpost, also known as Stronghold 51, hollowed out of a granite reef jutting into the sea west of Renai (仁愛) in Nangan, Matsu. It was built like the nearby Dahan Stronghold to guard the Juguang Channel (莒光水道) against People’s Liberation Army speedboats. Its tunnels lead to gun ports, machine gun nests, sleeping quarters, a kitchen, and toilets, and the surrounding rocks were studded with broken glass to ward off raiders. It was also one of the few outposts to keep guard dogs, whose kennels survive.
