Built in 1811 by subprefect Xue Zhiliang (薛志亮) at his own expense, this twin temple complex pairs a Wenchang Shrine (文昌祠) dedicated to the patron saint of literature and examinations with an adjacent Guangong Temple (武廟) honouring martial virtue. Also on site is Wenkai Academy, forming one of the most complete Qing dynasty era civil education compounds surviving in Lukang. The trio was collectively designated a third-grade monument in 1985 and is now listed as a city monument. Under renovation as of 2026.
