The former unranked Shinto shrine (無格社) in Lukang was completed in October 1939 and dismantled in 1947 to clear space for the Lukang Junior High School (彰化縣立鹿港國民中學). Two stone guardian lions still stand at the entrance to the school. Despite the name it is located just across the district boundary in Fuxing, Changhua. It was known as Rokkō-jinja in the original Japanese.
I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
