Completed in 1935, this two-storey reinforced concrete office block was the administrative center of the Japanese colonial era fishing port of Keelung. It housed the fish market office, a prefectural fisheries laboratory, a post office, a canteen, and a rooftop weather and signal station above the adjoining wholesale market. In the post-war period it was taken over by the ROC Navy before Keelung District Fishermen’s Association bought it, but decades of deferred maintenance and a 2013 fire left it severely damaged, prompting the association to donate the building to the city in 2015. Listed as a historic building in 2003 and restored from 2019 onward, it has partly reopened as a fishing industry cultural park as of the mid-2020s.
