Established in 1933 as Yūraku-kan (有楽館). After the war it was renamed Guomin Theater (國民大戲院). Closed in 1991. Later recognized for its heritage value and renovated into the Hsinchu Image Museum (新竹市影像博物館), which still regularly screens films. There is a small theater museum around back displaying an old air conditioning unit, but the claim that this was the first cniema with air conditioning in Taiwan is suspect.
