林務局佳陽工作站

Former site of the Jiayang branch of the Forestry Bureau’s Lishan Workstation (梨山工作站). It was located at the 69.5 kilometer mark of the Cross-Island Highway on the shore of Deji Reservoir (德基水庫) in Heping District, Taichung. A debris flow buried the station on the evening of June 11th, 2012, during torrential rains that severed the highway in several places. Rescuers freed ranger Su Zhenghong (蘇正紘) and his partner Deng Xinning (鄧心凝) from the wreckage of the dormitory a little over an hour later, but with the road cut in both directions the two had to be evacuated by reservoir patrol boat and farm vehicle, and both perished before reaching the health center at Lishan. The remaining structures were subsequently dismantled and the workstation no longer exists in any form.
