One of 35 resettlement villages built after the evacuation of the Dachen Islands in 1955. As the name implies, residents were originally from Nanji Island (南麂島). Originally there were 110 households with 354 residents, but most have emigrated in search of greater opportunities over the decades. Nowadays the main site worth visiting is the Nanji Yangfu Temple (南麂楊府廟) on the outskirts of the village.
