One of around 35 villages set aside for refugees from the Dachen Islands in 1955. This one is unusual for being located in the urban core of greater Taipei. Initially it was home to 256 households and 793 residents. It was redeveloped into more modern apartment blocks decades ago, so some of its distinct identity may be gone, but there are still shops selling Dachen Island specialties along the street.
