The eponymous Dounan Theater was established in 1936 on Shun’an Street (順安街) around the intersection with Yong’an Street (永安街) in Dounan. It continued to operate into the post-war era and beyond, specializing in traditional opera and performance more than screening films. It was almost certainly demolished decades ago but an on-site inspection is required to confirm no traces remain.
