The original site of Dounan Presbyterian Church (斗南長老教會), established in 1951 on a graveyard next to the provincial highway in Dounan. The congregation was established by Peng Qingyue (彭清約), a physician who traveled weekly by train from Kaohsiung to evangelize in what was then a town with no Christian presence. The founding members cleared the site by hand and buried the unidentified remains beneath the pulpit. The church eventually sold the flood-prone property and relocated to a former mayor’s villa elsewhere in town. Although the timeline is vague it seems certain the site has been effectively abandoned since the 2000s, the former church building hidden behind overgrown foliage.
