A complex of wooden staff housing for employees of Dounan Railway Station spanning an entire city block bounded by Xinxing Street, Minquan Road, Nanchang Road, and Shun’an Street. One of the three largest surviving TRA dormitory complexes in Taiwan alongside those in alongside Taipei and Changhua, the buildings include detached, semi-detached, and terraced types reflecting construction from the Japanese colonial era through to the post-war US aid period. Unusually for railway housing, the complex was built away from the rail line rather than alongside it for reasons unknown.
