Established in 1938, around the time of the completion of the Jianshanpi Reservoir (尖山埤水庫), which was constructed by Ensuikō Sugar Refining Co., Ltd. (鹽水港製糖株式會社) to provide water to the sugar factory operating around Xinying. This institutional shrine (構內社) was mostly dismantled sometime after the war, but the original pedestal and visiting path can still be seen, and there are stone fragments in the underbrush that are likely original relics. The official name might have been Daitou-jinja (大東神社), while some sources list it as Jianshuipi Shinto Shrine (尖水埤神社).
