A faded commercial strip at the crossroads of County Highways 172 and 161 in the Daliao (大寮) settlement of Budai. The area boomed in the early post-war decades around the now-vanished Yongle Theater, with shophouses, an open-air market, and a string of brothels serving traders from the nearby port. The market relocated in 1963 and television eroded the theater’s draw, ushering in decades of decline. A handful of old houses with neo-Baroque façades survive along the road.
